My number one fan

Anyone else sleep with a fan or heater running by their bed? Setting that up before bed is one of the most underrated rituals in life.

This winter, I excavated my heater fan and went to turn it on. To my dismay, the fan blew but produced no heat. It would be a cold night.

It had served me well for many years, warming me up throughout both day and night of many a cold London winters. Its consistent whining lulling me to sleep. It was time to retire my old friend.

I ordered a new heater and have since developed rituals for it too. The remote, a major upgrade to my user experience, sits by the pillow. Without raising my head from the pillow to look at the remote, I can press the buttons to set it to Heat Level 3 and duration to 2H, so that it automatically turns off once I'm asleep (this is important as my previous fan would stay running all night, nearly suffocating me with its lovely heat.)

Rest easy as you had helped me rest warm, Belaco Fan Heater 2 BFH21 - you served me well!
